The thesis paper entitled “Reintroducing History: A Proposed War Memorial Cultural Center in Bataan” explores the potential impact of establishing a physical embodiment of World War II history and culture within the province. This study examines the different aspects relevant to the study from the historical context of the location to the key information that needs to be considered on forming architectural solutions. This study helps to understand the severity of the events and consequences of war to the people. This is to help boost more engagement and appreciation towards the contribution of the people who took part in defending the country of the Philippines from the oppressors’ rule. Additionally, this can help gain more opportunities to help the veterans and their families re-establish their pride and honor amongst the Filipinos and even other people as well. Amidst the continuous progression of technology, the researchers looked into how architectural design solutions can help bring back the historical culture within the society’s awareness and field of interest to sustain its presence. Furthermore, it will look into how architecture can help in the motive of reintroducing history to the present generation while incorporating design trends to keep it present for the next generations to come.
