The Audio-Visual Room (AVR) of the College of Architecture and Fine Arts of the University is an essential learning space for it functions to cater to the community's needs both in curricular and co-curricular aspects. Faculty and student meetings, as well as workshops, seminars, and other learning-related events, are being held here making it multifunctional. However, due to the increasing number of students, the available space for the AVR is limited, and concerns have been raised about its availability. A research study entitled CAFARTITION aims to solve the problem of space utilization by designing and fabricating a partition that enhances the form, function, and aesthetic features of the CAFA-AVR. The panels are made of marine plywood, insulation foam, and formica. Innovative materials such as bevel gear, pinion gear, bearing, shaft, and slider roller are also used in the project. CAFARTITION is a feature that enables the user to divide and organize a shared space into two separate rooms, providing increased privacy and better utilization of the air conditioner's cooling capacity. With CAFARTITION, the panels can be quickly and easily folded or straightened to create a whiteboard for writing or a white screen for projection, maximizing the available space. Moreover, the design solution was evaluated based on its functionality, aesthetics, safety, durability, portability, workability, effectiveness, and space utilization to ensure the validity and reliability of the data used in the research instrument. After conducting the study, the researchers obtained an overall mean of 4.44 in CAFA AVR, which indicates that the project proposed by the proponents is "Acceptable".
