Toilet cleanliness is critical for all humans. All germs and bacteria begin their attacks on
the human body here. That is why toilets must be sanitized daily. Foul odors in a restroom
are caused by a lack of cleaning, an unflushed toilet, and a lack of water, while an
adequately cleaned restroom will have no odor issues. Currently, available technologies
and methods can produce exact measurements and effective maintenance and monitoring.
However, these are hand-controlled, expensive to operate, and difficult to monitor due to
insufficient alerting options. As a result, the researchers proposed a restroom maintenance

system that can monitor, notify restroom cleaners, and maintain cleanliness that is IoT-
based with data analytics from the data obtained from air quality sensors and ultrasonic

water level sensors by NodeMCU Wi-Fi Module ESP8266. The system was then assessed
in terms of the indoor air quality of the restroom based on the set time of day by the
researchers. Results show a significant difference in the air quality that can be detected

depending on the time of day, according to the testing results for the hypothesis-way one-
way ANOVA F (5,66) = 164.653, p=.000, and a sample size of n=72. This means that the

system can detect higher concentrations of pollutants in the air, resulting in a foul odor in
the restroom, particularly at 1PM as compared to the other time of the day. The system was
evaluated using the ISO 25010 system and software quality models, and responses from
maintenance staff, university professors, and students yielded an overall mean of 4.8, which
is interpreted as excellent. This project contributes to the United Nations' Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs) to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
(SDG 12), as well as the objective to ensure water availability and sustainable management
for all (SDG 6).
