The study on the Development of Automatic Portable Fish Drying Machine
addresses the problems encountered by small-scale fish processors in drying fish efficiently
and effectively. The developed prototype features an automatic system for controlling
temperature, airflow, and drying time. The key components of the machine include a
temperature control system, high-efficiency fan, rack system, portable frame fitted with
wheels, and an adjustable timer. The machine's portability allows ease of movement to
various locations, making it suitable for small-scale businesses. Automating the drying
process enhances productivity and consistently produces high-quality dried fish products
while reducing dependence on manual labor and ensuring efficient operations. The result
reveals that the development of automatic, portable fish-drying machine excelled in
functionality, aesthetics, durability, workability, economy, and safety. The prototype’s
positive rating across these criteria confirms its acceptability and effectiveness as a reliable
method for dying fish. The project was evaluated by (5) TUP-Quezon Instructors, (5)
specialists in dried fish, and (20) students from TUP-Quezon Extension Campus and was
rated with an overall mean of 4.54, indicating that it is "Highly Acceptable".
