Global demand for wood-based products continues to grow despite the declining of the availability of wood supplies, particularly in forest-depleted areas, creating a specialized need for alternative materials. Meanwhile, the Agricultural sector generated a large number of residues annually. In this study, Corn husk and Corn Cob, an abundant agricultural waste in the Philippines, were utilized to manufacture a Particleboard using Polyester resin as formaldehyde-free adhesive. The said Particleboard has a ratio of 20:20:60, 25:25:50, and 30:30:40, with a density of 0.8 g/cc. The physical and mechanical properties of the Particleboard were investigated based on the Philippine National Standard (PNS) for type 150. The test result for the Modulus of Rupture test ranges from 80.85 kg/cm² to 107.86 kg/cm², for the Internal Bond test ranges from 7.21 kg/cm² to 7.38 kg/cm², for the Face Screw test Holding ranges from 97.05kg to 121.85kg, for Water Absorption test ranges from 6.07% to 15.39%, and for Thickness Swelling test ranges from 6.07% to 15.39%. Optimal properties were exhibited by composite 20:20:60 by weight, while the least was 30:30:40 by weight. Majorities of the test that is conducted on the particleboard are passed; therefore, the particleboard in this study can be possibly used as alternative particleboard for making furniture and architectural designs.
