This research introduces the design and development of a semi-automated lumpiang shanghai production machine that can counteract the drawbacks of manual preparation methods, which are mostly inefficient, labor-intensive, and low-yielding in output. The machine was developed to enhance productivity, minimize manual labor, and yield consistent quality products. It has an inbuilt system made up of a screw conveyor for precise dispensing of the meat and a wrapping system with a stainless-steel rollers and folding elements, all controlled by a control panel. Its performance was tested in a series of examinations against its operational capacity compared to the manual systems. The output was seventy-five (75) lumpiang shanghai in thirty (30) minutes, with each piece weighing about eighteen (18) grams, thus meeting and moderately surpassing the target of producing seventy (70) pieces in the same time period. This is a remarkable increase in speed and consistency over manual processing. The machine also recorded an average efficiency rate of 84.12%, affirming its functional reliability. Designed to hold up to three (3) kilograms of filling and produce consistent sizes of lumpiang shanghai, the machine provides a cost-effective, sanitary, and economical solution for small-scale vendors. Its implementation can enhance production capabilities and support local entrepreneurs in meeting increased consumer demand.
