This study, Development of Elevating Drum Seeder aims to help the farmers to broadcast
the palay seed. This project also aims to lift 3kg of seeds. The project has a remote control
for the drone and for the drum seeder. It controls the rotation of the drum seeder. An
application in an Android phone can also be used to control and lock at a specific height.
It has also a GPS for the drone to easily plot the way or direction of the drone. It is operated
by a rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery for the drone and for the supply of the drum
seeder rotation. The project was evaluated by thirty (30) respondents composed of five (5)
farmers, two (2) technicians, eight (8) engineers, four (4) rice vendors, four (4)
agriculturist, four (4) professors and three (3) students. The evaluation results on the
acceptability of the project gained an overall mean of 4.68 which is rated as “Excellent”.
The following recommendations are included to further improve the project; provide a
drone that can lift more than 3kg of palay seeds, a limit switch to indicate if the
drum/hopper is empty and the project can also be used in other types of seeds and also for
solid fertilizers.
