Dissertation note: College of Science -- Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Technological University of the Philippines, 2024. Abstract: "The study developed an IoT-enabled Smart Kitchen System that enhances safety within the kitchen space. The system focused on addressing critical aspects of kitchen safety by detecting different kinds of problems in gas, smoke, air quality and temperature within the kitchen. The system is composed of an ESP32 which requires Wi-Fi connectivity, MQ-2 sensor for detecting smoke, an MQ-135 for detecting the air quality, an MQ5- for detecting gas, and a DHT22 for detecting temperature. The system has its own dashboard, allowing users to perform real-time monitoring. The results of the evaluation justify the effectiveness, functionality, and features of the system. The system helps the homeowners by allowing them to monitor the kitchen during cooking activities or monitor it remotely by receiving alerts via SMS notifications through their mobile phone when the sensors detect abnormalities. The system provides a user-friendly interface that ensures real-time monitoring for all homeowners and reduces the chance of hazards which provides a safer kitchen environment and household that promotes peace of mind for users." - Author's Abstract
