The study, Development of Fruit Bagging and Picking Device, was aimed to help farmers with problems concerning fruit bagging and fruit picking processes that required heavy manual work. Farmers that deal with delicate fruits tend to have severe manual labor due to a lack of machines that can handle said fruits without any damage made. With this device, the user can bag and pick fruits without causing physical damage, and can easily extend to reach high trees. The device comprises a telescopic rod as the mainframe, a ring for the fruit bagging mechanism with a reel to control its trigger, and a cutting shear for fruit picking operated by a control handle. It also has a casing to store the cutting shear used for picking fruits and a weight belt support for the user while operating the device to avoid accidents. The device was developed using different light materials to be lightweight and easy to use, along with helpful features like extending the reach of the farmers for fruit picking and bagging methods that made the processes faster to accomplish. The device was evaluated by 20 respondents composed of experts in agricultural and mechanical fields using a survey regarding the device's workability, durability, functionality, aesthetics, safety, and economy and was rated with an overall mean of 4.41, with a descriptive rating; of "Very Acceptable". The data collected from the surveys signified that the device was helpful for many experts in agricultural fields and mechanical fields. -- Author's abstract.
