Summary: The POSEIDON study (Pond Oxygen Sensor for Enhanced Identification and Detection of Need) is designed to maintain the health of fishpond waters. The system uses sensors to monitor dissolved oxygen, temperature, and the total dissolved solids (TDS) of the pond water quality. The data collected by these sensors is notified and displayed on a mobile app, making it simple for users to understand their pond’s condition, if the pond is exposed to a clean or dirty environment. An ESP32 microcontroller ensures flawless wireless connectivity, while the system’s solar-powered design makes it both energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. The device’s ability to provide continuous data helps users make informed decisions about maintaining excellent pond environments. While challenges like sensor maintenance and Wi-Fi dependency exist, these do not overshadow its practical benefits. The system is particularly useful for aquaculture and environmental management, offering a flexible and inclusive solution for preserving water quality. By helping users protect aquatic life and maintain ecological balance, POSEIDON is a significant step in sustainable pond management.
