Dissertation note: College of Science -- Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Technological University of the Philippines, 2024. Abstract: "ABSTRACT This capstone project presents the development of a Comprehensive Blood Bank Management System (BBMS) for the Philippine Red Cross-Muntinlupa Chapter to eliminate redundancy and inefficiency in its current manual paper-based system. The BBMS modernizes blood bank operations, improves donor management and recruitment, streamlines blood requests, automates request matching, and provides analytics for forecasting blood supply levels. The system was developed by combining traditional web development tools like HTML5, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL with modern PWA technology from PWA Builder Studio, enabling it to function as a mobile application for enhanced usability and performance. Hosted on Hostinger, it merges old and new web practices to offer a strong, responsive user experience. Acceptability testing, based on ISO 25010 software quality standards, involved forty (40) participants including donors, requesters, organization representatives, and blood bank administrators. The system achieved a high acceptability rate with a grand weighted mean of 3.74, focusing on functional suitability and usability. Key functions such as real-time inventory updates, automatic blood request matching, and efficient donor and request management significantly improved operational effectiveness and communication. The system effectively supports the Red Cross's mission to ensure a safe and adequate blood supply, meeting its development objectives and enhancing the operations and patient care at the Red Cross-Muntinlupa Chapter." -- Author's Abstract

"ABSTRACT

This capstone project presents the development of a Comprehensive Blood Bank Management
System (BBMS) for the Philippine Red Cross-Muntinlupa Chapter to eliminate redundancy and
inefficiency in its current manual paper-based system. The BBMS modernizes blood bank
operations, improves donor management and recruitment, streamlines blood requests, automates
request matching, and provides analytics for forecasting blood supply levels. The system was
developed by combining traditional web development tools like HTML5, JavaScript, PHP, and
MySQL with modern PWA technology from PWA Builder Studio, enabling it to function as a
mobile application for enhanced usability and performance. Hosted on Hostinger, it merges old
and new web practices to offer a strong, responsive user experience. Acceptability testing, based
on ISO 25010 software quality standards, involved forty (40) participants including donors,
requesters, organization representatives, and blood bank administrators. The system achieved a
high acceptability rate with a grand weighted mean of 3.74, focusing on functional suitability and
usability. Key functions such as real-time inventory updates, automatic blood request matching,
and efficient donor and request management significantly improved operational effectiveness and
communication. The system effectively supports the Red Cross's mission to ensure a safe and
adequate blood supply, meeting its development objectives and enhancing the operations and
patient care at the Red Cross-Muntinlupa Chapter." -- Author's Abstract
