It comes as no surprise that computers play a huge role to any human being because it has a lot of use, it can be beneficial or harmful depending on how the user uses it that is why computer tables are important because it can be displeasing if the computer table does not serve its purpose. People nowadays wants everything to be convenient for them, most of them wants a furniture that is multi-purpose that will benefit them because they can use it in different ways. The main objective of Gearble: Modified Desktop Working Table was to design and develop an innovative desktop working table for the comfort and convenience of the students. It serves as a desktop table with a working space and a mini bookshelf, it will also help the university library because the table itself has a unique design that will help students to have fun and be comfortable while doing their research. The researcher made sure that the design was up to date and considered the necessity of the user especially for students will not be compromised because of the design. The materials used for the desktop are Agusan (laminated) Plywood, Steel, and Clear Glass that will give the students comfort and convenience. The Agusan Plywood naturally has a smooth surface that can give the students a comfortable writing space. The steel can carry the load of the computer and the students while writing that is why steel is used for the frame and leg. Clear glass is cheaper than pure glass, it is lighter and very durable compared to pure glass and lastly it is easy to clean. The researchers conducted a survey with a total of thirty (30) respondents consisting of four (4) architects, four (4) engineers, four (4) designers, eight (8) librarians and ten (10) students. The result of the survey got a total of 4.34 overall mean which means that the prototype passes all the criteria that is functionality, aesthetic, economy, safety, workability, and durability This study aims to analyze the importance of furniture on how it will help the people that will be using it, how the furniture can perform and serve its purpose, durability, functionality and the importance of ergonomics. -- Author's Abstract
