Dissertation note: College of Industrial Technology.-- Bachelor of Technology major in Electrical Engineering Technology: Technological University of the Philippines, Manila. 2019 Summary: The study, Development of Wood Vinegar Machine, aims to develop a Wood Vinegar Machine that will make a wood vinegar in less tar that can use as an organic fertilizer and pesticides. The machine is composed of two processes. The first process is the pyrolysis process. This process is made up of a chamber with a length of 1 meter, 1.5 meters in height and 1 meter of width. The kiln with a diameter of 0.6 meter absorbs heat when burning of woods happens in the firewood storage. This process enables the extraction of wood which produces smoke. The second process is the condensation process wherein the valve actuator operates beyond 80 to 120 degrees Celsius upon collecting the smoke, while condenser helps to condensate the passing vapour faster. Test results had shown that the machine could produce a minimum of 200 ml wood vinegar within 3 to 4 hours. The use of valve actuator decreases the tar content upon collecting the smoke beyond 80 to 120 degrees Celsius. The prototype is presented to thirty (30) evaluators to determine its performance. The performance of machine is evaluated by 30 evaluators and obtained the mean score of 4.53 which means Excellent. This concludes that the wood vinegar machine had managed to increase the effectiveness of wood vinegar and the use of stainless steel that have a high corrosion resistance which prevents contamination and improves the quality of the machine.
