Earthquake is one of the most devastating natural disasters which occur in no particular place
and time in the world. The VR Earthquake Simulator V2 is a developed application that can
simulate an Earthquake to improve the awareness and preparedness of the students and also
gives best practices for preventing and reducing the impacts of earthquakes. The mobile
application has different features, such as Instruction System for the user on how to deal with
an Earthquake, Options Settings for Adjusting Magnitude, a Satisfaction Rating System for
the user’s feedback about the experience, and Changeable Environment for different
Scenarios. Using the Waterfall methodology, the researchers designed and fabricated the
application. To ensure the application was working properly, the researchers conducted a
performance test and compatibility test. The test result shows that the application will run
smoothly on high-end smartphones Android 9.0 and up. The researchers conclude that all of
the claims of the evaluators are because of the glass of the VR box built in. It suggests that
the app should be more user-friendly by adding voice-over instruction and language/dialect
options, and it could be more beneficial if there is another different scenario. Use
functionality festing to verify each application features works for future development of
simulation.
