The study, development of multi-purpose hydraulic press with replaceable shafts for under
chassis components is composed of the following materials, induction motor, hydraulic
cylinder, hydraulic pump, and frame. It aims to remove cross joint, wheel bearing, wheel
hub bearing, and coil spring in the easiest way that helps every mechanic to reduce time
while removing those components. The prototype was designed to provide the necessary
force, precision, and flexibility to remove cross joint, wheel bearing, wheel hub bearing,
and coil spring. It enhances the efficiency of the work and develops the tools used in the
automotive industry which help to perform their task and improve work quickly and safely.
The comparison of removing these under chassis components using the developed
prototype and the traditional way had a significant difference in terms of effort and time
spent in performing such tasks, the average time using the developed prototype was 9
minutes and 58 seconds while the traditional way has an average time of 24 minutes and
57 seconds which proves that the developed prototype has a faster removal of under chassis
components. The evaluation of the equipment was done by respondents from the
Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) and automotive experts with an overall
mean of 4.65 with a descriptive reading of highly acceptable. It indicates that the equipment
is highly accepted by the automotive industry.
Keywords: faster removal, multi-purpose hydraulic press, replaceable shafts, under chassis
