This thesis presents the development of a prototype for a non-destructive quality assessment system aimed at evaluating rebar placement in concrete walls. The system employs Ultra-Wideband technology integrated with a Raspberry Pi for high-precision measurement of rebar size, depth, and location without damaging the concrete. Reliability trials were conducted on different concrete samples with varying rebar sizes and rebar
depths to check functionality. The findings confirm the prototype provides high measurement accuracy for depth ranged within certain limits in reinforced concrete
structures, although the detection accuracy decreases significantly at greater depths. The device’s Bluetooth capabilities enable data transmission with adequate display settings, which meets the requirements for professional as well as casual users. This research
demonstrates the effectiveness of the developed system in ensuring structural integrity and compliance with construction standards.
