Summary: The researchers wanted to offer a useful pantry where individuals can spend their leisure time without minding the hassle in looking for a better area to stay in. Pantry is one of the sources of mood boosters that can easily enhance the employees’ performances throughout the day. Hence, this study titled “HA-IN: A Compact Pantry with an Expandable Tabletop for CAFA Graphics Department” would solve the necessary needs and problems facing the current pantry design. The researchers developed a product design which can provide solutions in the limited space area. Standard size of each functionality in the Pantry, storage that has easy access, a feasible and multifunctional chair and table for dining area, right amount of mechanism which can be easy to understand and maneuver. This product design is convenient and applicable in providing the demand of each faculty member in a pantry area. The researchers surveyed 50 people who were related to and applicable to the project; these people included office workers, teachers, students, architects, engineers, industrial designers, and interior designers. Ten (10) teachers, ten (10) design professionals, ten (10) professionals, and twenty (20) students were therefore the four groups into which the respondents were divided. Based on the results from the respondents, it shows that the product design has positively perceived effectiveness. Functionality having the highest weighted mean average of 4.72, (Excellent) followed by aesthetic with weighted mean average of 4.68, (Excellent). This is evidence that the project HA-IN is perceived as an effective product for Pantry design to individuals who aim to experience functionality, safety, and aesthetics to their home and work environment.
