Summary: Agriculture was a key sector in the Philippine economy, with Fisheries and Aquaculture being one of its four sub-sectors. In 2020, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources reported that the country ranked 11th globally in aquaculture production, contributing 826.01 thousand metric tons (MT), or 1.01%, to the global output of 82.10 million MT. This study focused on addressing the issues associated with fish feeding. Despite its significance, manual fish feeding was labor-intensive, physically demanding, and potentially risky due to the high temperatures in the Philippines. The aim of this research project was to develop, test, and assess an automated fish feeding system to alleviate the burden on fishery operators and caretakers. By leveraging technology, feeding could be made more efficient and less physically demanding. This research initiative aligned TUP/DOST's objectives by promoting sustainable aquaculture practices, enhancing food security, and driving development.
