Dissertation note: College of Architecture and Fine Arts.-- Bachelor in graphics technology major in mechanical drafting technology: Technological University of the Philippines, 2024. Summary: This research entails the construction of HINANSHO: A Solid Polycarbonated Sheet Roof in CAFA Atrium. The objective of this research is to conduct an in-depth evaluation on the efficiency and advantages from using such a roofing system; with particular attention placed on the benefit as a result gained by natural sunlight utilization optimization, shield towards outside effects, structural aspects, and heat traits. A key part of the investigation is therefore investigating how this roofing design affects the overall Safety, Workability, Durability and Aesthetic rate of CAFA Atrium. To analyze these components, the study provides supplementary standard variables to evaluate by the end users and field experts. The safety features of a roofing system are the first things this study ensures. A well-designed rooftop, along with proper security, is not only protective against weather threats, but it should also minimize the chance of an accident happening as it will be installed in the central atrium of the CAFA department inside Technological University of the Philippines - Manila. The evaluated data shows the overall safety of the structure to be 'very acceptable' with a numerical rating of 4.21. An effective structure is an integral part of its success as it indicates how much the roof structure can be used effectively and safely. Achieving perfect workability entails a delicate balance between strength, durability, and practical functionality, the gathered data from the evaluation rated as ‘highly acceptable’ which gathered numerical rating of 4.55. Workability of the structure helps ensure that the structure not only meets its function but also withstands long-term vii environmental challenges. The durability of a structure is crucially important not only for the preservation of investments but also as it ensures long-term safety and functionality, the gathered data from the evaluation also rated as ‘highly acceptable’ which also gathered numerical rating of 4.57. The vigorous evaluation of the materials, construction methods and environmental parameters contributes to resilience and inherent longevity or sustainability for generations. The research also aims to shed some light on how this special architectural feature either enhances or alters the overall visual sensation and aesthetics, it garnered 3.94 numerical rating based on the evaluated data from end users and filled experts which is rated as ‘very acceptable’. Fundamentally, this research study attempts to reveal the vital construction processes and become a good example of the application of polycarbonate solid sheet roofing in large public areas such as atriums. The study provides important information that can be used as a basis for the future architectural decisions intended to improve both the functional and aesthetic qualities of major public spaces. The comments and suggestions have been duly acknowledged through the implementation of additional adjustments and provisions to the structure. Regarding the end users' observation about the structure causing the area to appear dimmer post- installation, measures are being instituted to address this concern. These measures will necessitate the installation of lights around the area and on the stage. Furthermore, this initiative aims to mitigate the difficulty in viewing from upper floors of the building, attributable to the bronze color of the polycarbonate solid sheet, which renders it tinted and reflective.

This research entails the construction of HINANSHO: A Solid

conduct an in-depth evaluation on the efficiency and advantages from using such

The safety features of a roofing system are the first things this study
ensures. A well-designed rooftop, along with proper security, is not only protective
against weather threats, but it should also minimize the chance of an accident
happening as it will be installed in the central atrium of the CAFA department inside

overall safety of the structure to be 'very acceptable' with a numerical rating of
4.21.
An effective structure is an integral part of its success as it indicates how
much the roof structure can be used effectively and safely. Achieving perfect
workability entails a delicate balance between strength, durability, and practical
functionality, the gathered data from the evaluation rated as ‘highly acceptable’
which gathered numerical rating of 4.55. Workability of the structure helps ensure

only for the preservation of investments but also as it ensures long-term safety and
functionality, the gathered data from the evaluation also rated as ‘highly
acceptable’ which also gathered numerical rating of 4.57. The vigorous evaluation
of the materials, construction methods and environmental parameters contributes
to resilience and inherent longevity or sustainability for generations.
The research also aims to shed some light on how this special architectural
feature either enhances or alters the overall visual sensation and aesthetics, it
garnered 3.94 numerical rating based on the evaluated data from end users and
