The competitive education environment, regulated support and increased expectations from the government and students led these universities to adopt new strategies by using software system particularly in resource planning. This study aims to develop an implementation framework for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System that can be utilized by selected state universities in Region IVA. The study initially determined the status and ICT practices of these universities simultaneous with the identification of ERP system critical success factors (CSFs) through the help of several industry experts. These factors were used to assess the universities' readiness to implement ERP which served as basis for developing the framework. Findings showed that SU5 is technically leading when it comes to practices and awareness which imply bigger potential due to the closeness of these practices to ERP system solutions. Organizational factors have the biggest impact on successful ERP system, so it is imperative to prioritized these factors while socio-economic benefits are more evident so they can be used to assist in intensifying the CSFS and in addressing the difficulties currently experienced by the state universities. Majority of the state universities were found to be ERP system ready and also high in organizational readiness, therefore, the top management may start capitalizing on this advantage. The framework developed can definitely guide and help the state universities to efficiently implement the ERP system since it contains specific approaches to control the critical activities in the implementation phase as well as considerations to risks and challenges. Universities can prioritize and strategize to ensure successful outcome- Author's Abstract. | |
