Parking-related incidents, such as automotive doors colliding with other vehicles or striking obstacles like trash bins and concrete posts, pose common challenges for SUVs due to their inherent blind spots. The heightened height and size of SUVs create difficulties for drivers and passengers, necessitating a solution to address these issues. The primary aim is to implement a distance-sensing mechanism for SUV doors, enhancing safety and mitigating the risk of parking-related vehicle damage. The central control unit of the system is the Arduino Uno, programmed to activate the input device an ultrasonic sensor and various output devices, including LEDs, a buzzer, and an actuator. Systematic experimentation revealed that programming the Arduino Uno with a 60.96 centimeters trigger distance effectively activates the input device, ensuring optimal functionality. The evaluation of the developed prototype is based on six criteria: functionality, aesthetics, workability, durability, economy, and safety. The assessment resulted in an overall mean score of 4.48, accompanied by a descriptive rating of "very satisfactory." This study addresses the prevalent challenges faced by SUVs in parking situations, offering an effective solution that enhances safety, prevents vehicle damage, and provides an overall satisfactory user experience. | ||
