Bignay leaves is proven to have a potential to produce pigment such screen printing ink, only the leaves were used in this study. The final product had to go through several stages of processing, such as collecting, sorting, drying, blending, sieving of the bignay leaves, adding additives, and mixing. Based on the test results from Adamson University Technology Research and Development Center showed the adhesion analysis of the screen printing obtained passed. The pH level resulted to 5.7 at 25 degrees celsius while the tinting strength result is 8.78 using the spectrophotometric at 520 nm. To determine the acceptability of the screen printing ink made of bignay leaves, a group of professionals, teachers, and students, evaluated the produced product. The evaluators are consisting of (3) professionals, (4) teachers, and (16) students of Print Media Technology in Technological University of the Philippines-Manila. The evaluation resulted in an overall mean of 4.60. which has a qualitative interpretation in terms of aesthetic, workability, durability, economy, safety, and saleability. The aesthetic obtained 4.53, while the workability got the mean of 4.73. Meanwhile, the durability obtained 4. 63, the economy is 4.69, the safety 4.62, and the saleability got the lowest mean rating of 4.43. The evaluation results indicating that the screen printing ink made of bignay leaves is proven acceptable. | ||
