520 _aCommon charcoal briquettes are made of coconut husk, they undergo certain processes using different machines to achieve the desired quality of briquettes considering the compactness, density, and its burning capacity. One of the machines that provides the molding process and determines the compactness of the charcoal is the briquetting machine. For common machines like this, they are using screw-shafts driven by the motor to press and push the charcoal powder mixture through the die/molder, it has a mechanical taper that gradually pushes through the mixture to perform compression and afterwards it formed a briquet. The main objective of this study is to develop a briquetting machine that could increase the rate of output compared to other machines. It has a dual extruder and two molders to increase the rate of output at a certain time, based on the results from 50kg/hr. that produces 308 pieces of briquettes, the prototype can reach 134kg/hr. that produces 960 pieces of briquettes, this was achieved by adding additional compression section to the machine. An automatic cutting has been added as a feature of the machine, the purpose of this is to lessen the human intervention in terms of cutting the outcoming briquette from the molder and provide equal size and cuts to the charcoal. Test results showed that the machine could mold a briquette with an average of 80 pieces in span of 5 minutes with an average weight of 11.2 kilograms. For the performance of the machine, it is presented to 30 evaluators and obtained the grand mean score of 4.82 equivalent to a descriptive grade of Excellent. This concludes that the developed prototype met the desired results and objectives set by this study. Keywords: briquette, extruder, screw-shaft, automatic cutting, briquetting machine
