| 520 | _aThis study entitled ‘Utilization of leaf lettuce as food grade packaging paper wrapper, aims to lessen the rising number of food waste in the country, also to help the local farmers of their over produced lettuce. The wrapper is made from leaf lettuce (Loose Leaf) and glycerine with a same weight and thickness of a normal paper. The wrapper is capable of water resistance properties due to being organic raw material used. Its shelf life can last up to seven days without getting bad odour. But it almost has the same tear strength of a normal bond paper that can hold up to thirty grams of weight without tearing apart. The product took a comparative analysis from the existing food wrapper made from non- synthetic materials in local and global market and has shown a competitive result in terms of efficiency and affordability. This signifies that the prototype is serviceable to the faculty and students of Print Media Technology of the Technological University of the Philippines Manila. | ||
