| 520 | _aThe purpose of this study is to explores the potential of powdered Kamias for food production through innovative processing technologies. It helps to reduce the waste of Kamias and create a new product that can be marketed locally. The machine aims to advance the drying process, enhance product quality, and improve profitability for the Kilos Unlad ng Mamamayan ng Real (KUMARE) – an all women cooperative in Real, Quezon that makes Kamias products. The study aims to develop a machine that can dry 5 kilograms of Kamias within 5 hours, achieving moisture content of 0%-5% per trial. The trials results show the dehydrator efficiency in producing consistent and desirable outcomes. The first trial yielded a final weight of 154 grams with 3.74% of moisture content. The second trial produced a final weight of 189 grams with 4.4% of moisture content. The third trial yielded a final weight of 194 grams with 4.56% of moisture content. The Kamias were dehydrated inside the drying chamber at 75 degrees Celsius for 5 hours. Important components like the heating element, fan, heating chamber, perforated tray, hopper, lever, and pulverizer were successfully incorporated. These findings suggest that the machine represents a potential technological solution for enhancing the efficiency and quality of Kamias powder production. | ||
