520 _aThe Design and Fabrication of Vegetable Oil Extraction Machine aims to support the research in energy at Technological University of the Philippines Manila, especially in the renewable energy sector that focuses about the production of biodiesel with the use of oil from the seeds. The goal of this project is to produce good quality oil that will be helpful for future researchers of biodiesel. The design of this project has a maximum capacity of 3 kilograms of seed per hour depending on the type of seeds that will be extracted from each trial. The designed machine was divided into two processes; the pulverization process where the large and hard seeds is pulverized and the extraction process where the pulverized seeds from the pulverizer were extracted with a heater that has a temperature corelated to the type of seed. The Vegetable oil extraction machine was designed to extract seeds with a controlled heater to retain the desired amount of temperature that will maintain the characteristics of oil, needed in biodiesel research. The screw and chamber are designed to be detachable for easy cleaning and maintenance and have a reverse button to avoid the press from choking. The extractor can revolve 40 times per minute and has a yield capacity of 10% of each seed type that has been tested (avocado seed, sesame, peanut, and soybeans) during the experiment.
