520 _aIn this study, various problems associated with harvesting and threshing of agricultural food grains by local farmers in the Philippines were identified. The aim of the project is to design a low-cost, small-scale soybean combined harvester for agrarian production using locally available materials at affordable price; to ensure improved performance at reasonable maintenance cost for the use of farmers in the Philippines. Calculations for the design of each component; as well as their power requirements to determine the engine specifications were carried out to ensure an optimal performance. The output of the research came up to the design and fabrication of a small-scale soybean combined harvester which became a smaller version of the large capital-intensive harvester for the farmers who plant on their small designated lots in some developing rural areas in the Philippines.
