520 _aThis study addresses the fish waste for nearby coastal areas in Laguna de Bay by designing a Fish Drying Machine for different kinds of fish processing. This project involves the design of an innovative fish-drying machine aimed at improving the efficiency and quality of the drying process. Traditional dish drying methods, such as the atmospheric drying method, are often plagued by issues such as contamination, inconsistent drying, and dependence on weather conditions. To address these challenges, we design a fish drying machine providing a controlled environment that enhances the drying efficiency, also to ensures the uniformity of drying, and reduces the contamination risk. This project aims to fabricate a machine that can dry 4-5 kilograms of ayungin in 2 hours, 8-9 kilograms of tilapia in 3 hours, and 5-6 kilograms of gourami in 4 hours achieving a moisture content of 20% 30% in range. The evaluation of the machine considered its efficiency, the quality of the fish in terms of the outside texture, eyes, bone, and smell, ease of operation, maintenance, and level of safety. The study consisted of interviews, surveys, literature studies, computations, simulations, and experiments to develop the machine. The results reveal that the fish drying machine effectively meets the stipulated parameters, including fans, a heating element, multiple temperature and time selector controls, and mesh racks. The machine successfully dried the 4-5kg of ayungin, 5-6kg gourami, and 8-9kg of tilapia with its period. Important components like the multiple temperature and time selector, heating element, fans, and heating chamber were successfully installed and made the machine fully efficient. In conclusion, the machine represents the technological advancement in fish processing, offering a reliable, efficient, and hygienic solution to traditional fish drying parameters.
