520 _aThe dual-purpose creeper with a tool tray was developed to address the lack of affordable, efficient mechanic creepers in the automotive industry. Traditional creepers are often inaccessible, making it challenging for mechanics to perform tasks like inspections, maintenance, and repairs on the undercarriage and topside components such as brakes, oil systems, suspension, engines, and transmissions. This prototype combines under-chassis and topside capabilities, streamlining workflows and improving efficiency. Its integrated tool tray further enhances productivity by keeping essential tools within easy reach. Fabricated according to design specifications, the prototype incorporates insights from automotive professionals, resulting in a portable, user-friendly tool suitable for level surfaces. Testing revealed significant efficiency improvements, with teamwork reducing the time required to raise and lower the creeper. It also demonstrated durability, performing reliably under user weights ranging from 50 kg to 90 kg. The design optimizes workspace layouts, saves time, and promotes better organization in crowded workshops. The prototype received a highly acceptable evaluation rating of 4.69, showcasing its practicality and effectiveness in the automotive field. Key features include ergonomic padding, adjustable positions, and a space-saving design, ensuring comfort and reducing fatigue during extended use. While the complex design may require some training for optimal use, the dual-purpose creeper offers a cost-effective solution that enhances service quality, technician satisfaction, and overall productivity. By addressing industry needs, the creeper proves to be an invaluable tool for automotive maintenance, especially for professional shops seeking innovative, low-cost equipment.
