520 _aThis study addresses the limitations of traditional bookbinding through designing and developing a Semi-Automated Hardcover Book Binding Machine that is intended for producing a hardcover book in two (2) hours. The study seeks to develop a machine for binding letter-size paper up to 20mm thick, and it will complete the entire process including alignment, cutting, application of adhesive, binding and foil stamping. The machine aims to improve output quality, bind faster, and strengthen productivity for students, educators, and small printing operations. About the machine, the evaluation focused on cutting precision and binding strength. Evaluators considered production time, ease of operation and maintenance, and overall safety as focal points during their assessment. The bookbinding machine effectively met as well as exceeded the set parameters according to the results. The full binding process, on average, was successfully completed in 69.6 minutes and the result exceeds the target time of two hours. The cutting mechanism had an average cut of 5.1mm, when compared to the required 5.08 mm, it resulted to an error of only 0.39%, For very good binding quality, the machine exceeded the 9 N/cm benchmark when it pulled 11.29 N/cm average, binding pages well. Key components consisted of the heating press and alignment guides plus the cutting module and the adhesive applicator in addition to the foil stamping unit. Based on the performance results that were found, the Semi- Automated Hardcover Bookbinding Machine offers a solution that is efficient for hardcover books.
