520 _aThis study aimed to determine the environmental factors that affect the abundance of Acetes intermedius (alamang) in the littoral zone of Rosario, Cavite. Water Quality Monitoring and sampling were done from January to April 2025 in selected three sites: Site 1 (Barangay Muzon I), Site 2 (Muzon II), and Site 3 (Kanluran). Water samples were collected and measured its temperature, turbidity, pH, electrical conductivity, DO, TDS, BOD, depth of the water, nitrates, phosphates, fecal coliform, and total coliform. Anthropogenic activities in the sampling sites were identified their contributes to the changes in the water quality near the littoral zone. Results showed that activities were swimming, boating, fishing, littering, and domestic waste disposal, most of the water quality parameters met the standards set by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) under the DAO 2016-03 for Class SC. The fecal and total coliform of water is beyond the allowable limits indicating poor water quality. Statistical analysis revealed a moderate correlation between Acetes intermedius abundance and water quality parameters, such as total dissolved solids (p=0.188;r=-0.408389), conductivity (p=0.097; r=-0.50079), dissolved oxygen (p=0.088; r=-0.51338), pH (p=0.017; r=-0.67225), biochemical oxygen demand (p=0.333; r=0.666762), nitrate concentration (p=0.484; r=0.21428), and total fecal coliform (p=0.445; r=-0.55523).
