520 _aWith the aim of fulfilling the rising need for accurate, efficient, and secure tracking of institutional assets, especially low-value assets which are usually overlooked in traditional inventory methods, presenting MAN-IN-SYNC, an intelligent system for inventory management. The system integrates Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) Radio- Frequency Identification (RFID), Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, and machine learning-based computer vision. MAN-IN-SYNC relies on UHF RFID readers and an onboard microcontroller for tracking assets accurately and also utilizes the YOLOv8 object detection algorithm to aid in smart video tracking and spotting unusual activity. The system includes a web dashboard that allows users to interactively monitor the real- time movement of items, sends automatic alerts for lost or unaccounted items, and provides an intuitive interface for administrators, to yield enhanced real-time monitoring and informed decision-making. Proactive management of room equipment over multiple locations is facilitated through the web portal's support for time-stamped updates, full log views, as well as notification summaries. The system was deployed and pilot tested in several ECE rooms at the Technological University of the Philippines in Manila, resulting in a significant reduction in asset loss incidents by 86.4% and improved inventory accuracy by 98% in comparison with the traditional method gaining 90%. The system streamlined operations by minimizing manual tasks and unnecessary procedures. It adheres to industry standards, aligning with ISO 55001 for asset management optimization and ISO/IEC 27001 for information security. MAN-IN-SYNC's successful development and deployment showcase its potential as an extensible and sustainable solution for modern-day institutional and academic stock issues.
