| 520 | _aThe TUP CAFA Learning Resource Center is a vital component of the College of Architecture and Fine Arts at the Technological University of the Philippines Manila. By introducing the rotating bookshelves with geometrical features known as GEO360, it aims to enhance the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the Learning Resource Center. This shelf is an innovative and dynamic addition that does not only provide practical storage for books, but also serves as a visually stimulating feature like the rotating shelves and motion sensor lights that addresses the spatial limitations of the LRC. The process of this design involved comprehensive research and conceptual development, followed by the creation and evaluation of a functional prototype where it can accommodate its users. Using a mixed-method approach, the study conducted a respective total of 50 respondents to test the effectiveness of the prototype to evaluate it in an inequitable basis. The findings underscore that the responses from the students and the faculty that have knowledge and experience in designing, prototyping, fabricating, and in any field related to architecture rated the GEO 360 Bookshelves as Highly Acceptable with a weighted ranges mean of 4.00% in terms of functionality with 4.40%, workability 4.43%, durability 4.43%, aesthetic and appearance 4.38% and lastly, its safety with 4.06%. The results show that it provides a significant benefit to the students, faculty and visitors that use the LRC thus, mitigating drawbacks on their academic related performance. Overall, the study confirms the GEO 360 Prototype was a valuable addition to the learning environment in the TUP CAFA Learning Research Center (LRC). | ||
