520 _aThe purpose of this project research entitled "Sliding Concrete Block Using Shredded PET Bottles as Partial Substitute to Fine Aggregates" is to reduce plastic waste and save natural aggregates. The Mechanical Properties of Concrete Blocks was studied to know the possible effects on the efficiency and durability of concrete blocks to limit the width of the crack when adding shredded PET bottles to fine aggregates. The researchers designed a Concrete Block by using concrete design of partial replaced with shredded PET bottles in proportion 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8%, which is composed of Portland Cement, Sand, and Water. The research sample or the concrete block was cured for 7, 14, and 28 days. After the curing of the concrete block, it is subjected to test in Compressive test using Universal Testing Machine and Water Absorption. After several tests, all specimens passed the ASTM Standard Specification, yet the 2% mixture of shredded PET Bottles cured for 28 days is highly recommended for non-load bearing concrete block. The concrete block was presented to the evaluators consisting of 5 Licensed Engineer, 10 Civil Engineering Student and 5 Technological University of the Philippines Professor and the result was interpreted using a descriptive interpretation of mean. The summary of the results of the evaluation is "Very Acceptable" this means that the product is acceptable and safe to use in the industry.
