Dissertation note: College of Industrial Technology.-- Bachelor of Engineering Technology Major in Railway Technology: Technological University of the Philippines, Manila. 2024 Summary: The objective of this project is to create and implement an automated rack storage that incorporates QR code technology, a database, and CCTV monitoring to offer a functional and efficient storage solution. The process started with ensuring a clean/minimal hazard work area, turning on the storage rack, and then familiarizing users with the manual and database interface of the storage rack. Users would scan QR codes to access compartments, which would unlock solenoid locks, allowing users to take out various items, with all actions logged into the cloud database. The components of this system are QR scanner module, control panel, data logger module and Wi-Fi module for real time monitoring. Testing procedures involved functional, performance, and system monitoring tests, confirming that the QR code scanning system, control interface, data logging, and compartment doors worked and were functional. Further tests confirmed that the manual bypass lock had operated properly, in the event of power outages, and that the Wi-Fi module had transmitted the data correctly. To evaluate the project's effectiveness, a survey was conducted with 30 respondents consisting of storekeepers, supervisors, maintenance workers, and students. Evaluation criteria included functionality, aesthetics, workability, durability, economy, and safety. Results showed a high level of satisfaction as the prototype received an overall rating of 4.68 which was excellent. These findings substantiated that the automated storage rack was within the design specifications, was durable and economical, and provided a secure, comfortable, and convenient storage solution Keywords: Automated Rack Storage, QR Code Technology, CCTV Monitoring, Cloud Database, Wi-Fi Module
