Summary: This study aimed to address the challenges faced by third-year Information and Communication Technology (ICT) students at the Technological University of the Philippines – Manila, particularly the need for an interactive learning platform to improve their understanding of web development fundamentals. The objective was to design, develop, and evaluate Quickie Learn, a web-based platform intended to enhance students’ comprehension and engagement in web development concepts. This research utilized a mixed-methods, design-based research research design, with four phases. The online platform included the essential web technologies of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, used to develop lessons inclusive of practical tasks with phenomenological principles. Iterative testing (Eisenhauer et al., 2018) was conducted with third and fourth year, ICT students, who provided feedback regarding usability, enjoyment, and learning effectiveness of the online platform and educational tasks. The findings indicated a positive change in students' understanding, engagement, and associated with development of problem solving skills after having used the platform. The findings supports Quickie Learn and its ability to help increase the learning opportunities and challenges for web development educational challenges. This platform has been conceived as a novel approach for learning and will facilitate learning opportunities for ICT students, educators and institutions by providing an interactive and needs- based education and learning experiences.
