Dissertation note: College Of Engineering.-- Bachelor of science in mechanical engineering: Technological University of the Philippines, 2025. Summary: This study aims to design and develop a semi-automatic strawberry jam processing machine to improve efficiency, consistency, and product quality in the jam production operations of Andap Farms in La Trinidad, Benguet. Addressing the challenges of labor- intensive and inconsistent manual jam-making methods, the study focused on creating a compact machine that integrates the essential processes of crushing, cooking, mixing, and dispensing into a unified system suitable for small-scale farmers. A mixed-method approach was employed within the framework of developmental research, which involves the systematic design, implementation, and evaluation of technological innovations to ensure construct validity and operational efficiency. Data were gathered through direct consultations with local strawberry farmers in Barangay Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet. The machine's performance was observed and analyzed based on functional output, processing time, product consistency, and ease of use. The findings revealed that the developed machine successfully processed 10 kilograms of strawberries per batch, producing an average of 28 jars of 350 mL strawberry jam within a target time of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Fabricated using food-grade materials and equipped with an induction heating system, anchor-type mixer, and manual crusher, the machine met the desired quality and operational standards. Comparative evaluations showed improved efficiency, reduced labor input, and consistent product quality over traditional methods.
