This study aimed to investigate the "Classroom Challenges of Teaching
Non-TLE Subjects by Off-Campus Practice Teachers" to gain a comprehensive
understanding of the various aspects of teaching. It examined the challenges
encountered by off-campus practice teachers when teaching subjects outside their
primary area of expertise. The goal was to provide valuable insights to address
the needs of these teachers and to contribute to the improvement of educational
policies and practices. The findings of this study revealed that off-campus practice
teachers face significant challenges when teaching non-TLE subjects. These
challenges include a lack of content knowledge, pedagogical difficulties, issues
with maintaining student engagement, and limited resources. The lack of content
knowledge often leads to decreased student engagement and understanding,
which, in turn, affects teaching effectiveness and the overall learning experience
for students. The study concludes that off-campus practice teachers would benefit
from greater moral support, guidance, and additional resources during their
practice teaching, which could positively impact their long-term teaching
performance and enhance student learning outcomes. The recommendations from
this study include providing off-campus practice teachers with increased
mentorship, support, and resource availability. Teachers should be encouraged to
prepare detailed lesson plans in advance. Additionally, educational institutions
should offer comprehensive training and seminars to equip teachers with the skills
and methodologies needed to effectively handle a wide range of subjects.
