The entrepreneurial landscape within universities is evolving rapidly, with student-run
businesses (SRBs) and campus-based enterprises playing a critical role in fostering
innovation and financial independence for students involved. At the Technological
University of the Philippines – Manila campus (TUPM), despite the increasing number of
buy and sell transactions, the marketplace remains disorganized and lacks proper security
measures. This presents challenges, such as difficulty in discovering products, unreliable
service, and put consumers at risk of scams. Observations from Facebook Group
communities like "TUP COMMUNITY" highlight these issues where students conduct
business in an unofficial and broad-scoped environment. To address these concerns, this
study proposes the development of CAMPUS COMMERCE, a secure, centralized e-
commerce platform tailored for the TUPM community. The project is designed as a "one-
stop shop" that aligns with the TUP Research and Development Agenda, supporting the
objectives of a Smart University. The development process was conducted using web
technologies such as React.js, Node.js, Python Django, and PostgreSQL, hosted on AWS
EC2. For the deployment, GitHub and Hostinger to deliver the system to the internet. The
web application was evaluated using the ISO 25010 software quality model and was rated
as “Highly Acceptable” with an overall average of “4.53” in terms of functional suitability,
performance efficiency, usability, reliability, security, and maintainability. This platform
aims to create a seamless, organized marketplace that empowers student entrepreneurs and
campus-based businesses while ensuring transparency, security, and collaboration.
